Chinese Brush Painting Class – Join Us at Wenvoe Village Hall!
I am pleased to announce that I will be running a Chinese Brush Painting class consisting of four lessons, held on the first Tuesday of March, April, May, and June at Wenvoe Village Hall starting at 2 pm till 4 pm.
There are 10 places available in total. All materials will be provided, so you do not need to bring anything with you. No prior experience is necessary—we will start with the basics and learn essential brush strokes as we progress through each lesson.

Panasetter in Gongbi Style
Gongbi painting is a traditional way of painting , also called meticulous painting , first we paint an out line of the subject , then we paint layers, and build up the lights, dark ,shadows , The way we go about this we paint each layer then with a clean water brush we push the paint to get an even cover depending on the painting 5 layers or more is needed.

Wet Backing Process for painting
I’ll be demonstrating how I back my paintings by making my own glue and showing you how to make the glue. It’s a fun process, and I think you'll really enjoy it!
I’ll also show you how to back different sizes of paintings, so whether you're working on something small or large, you’ll have all the tips you need.

For this project, you will need bleedproof paper. When your order arrives, I will send you the outline drawing of the painting plus a photo of the original painting for reference, so you can get started right away. For Chinese brush painting, you will need the following:
- Chinese brushes (watercolour brushes are not suitable);
- Felt to fit the size of your paper;
- A water container (3 way water holder is best);
- Ink (Bottled Ink is the best choice and a lot easier, and a lot less messy to use, than grinding ink);
- Set of watercolors (You can buy tubes of watercolour paints like “Marie’s” Chinese watercolour );
- Plate or palette for you ink;
- Small side plates or a pocket palette for your watercolour paints;
- Paper towels with which to dry your brush.

If you cancel your registration 15 days or more prior to the start of class,you will receive a full refund less any bank fees. If you cancel 14 days or less prior to the start of class, you will receive a credit voucher to use on any future lessons.
